This week in Benson
About Benson
Erastus Benson bought farmland northwest of Omaha in 1887, laid out Benson Place, and ran a streetcar out to sell the lots (he even hired a buffalo man to graze bison along Military Road). Benson grew into its own town with its own city hall, then joined Omaha in 1917. Maple Street still feels like a main street.
