About Country Club
The neighborhood is built on the former grounds of the Omaha Country Club, which bought the land in 1900 and sold it in 1924 as the growing city pressed in, moving its course farther north. In 1926 the 78 acres passed to Country Club District, Inc., and the Metcalfe company laid out lots along the gentle slopes of the old golf course, with wide streets, ornamental streetlights and good views.
