How do you sound like a drone attack on civilians? How do you prove an invisible sonic weapon caused lasting harm? This talk asks how contemporary art helps us think about war, memory, and democratic life. I focus on Open Group's Repeat After Me (2022/2024) and Lawrence Abu Hamdan's 450XL: The Story of a Fugitive Sound (2026), two video installations that use sonic memory to investigate the human toll of conflict and state violence.
