The Birth of the Báb commemorates the birth of Siyyid 'Alí-Muhammad, born on October 20, 1819, in Shiraz, Iran. It is a major Bahá'í holy day honoring the Herald of the Bahá'í Faith. Recognized as a Manifestation of God, the Báb founded the Bábí Faith and prepared the way for the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh.
