Speakers Bureau: Working With the Enemy: German, Italian, and Japanese Prisoners of War in Iowa During the Second World War
Thursday, November 12 · 5:30 PM–6:30 PM
Hudson Public Library · 401 5th St, Hudson
Hosted by Humanities Iowa
@ The Hudson Public Library will welcome historian Chad Timm on November 12 for a presentation on Iowa’s little-known World War II prisoner of war camps. Chad Timm explores life in the camps at Algona and Clarinda, the labor POWs provided to local farmers, and the complex relationships between prisoners and communities. This program sheds light on a surprising chapter of Iowa’s wartime history and the humanity found amid conflict.
