About Norfolk

The town's name grew out of 'North Fork' (of the Elkhorn River); locals still tend to say 'Norfork'. A party of 124 settlers in 42 families traveled from Wisconsin in three wagon trains and founded St. Paul's Lutheran, Madison County's first church.
