About Old Market

The Old Market was where Omaha’s produce came in: fruit and vegetable houses on Howard and 11th, rail cars on the tracks. In 1970 Sam Mercer opened The French Cafe in an old fruit warehouse, and the brick streets got a second life as Omaha’s arts and dining district.
