About Orchard Hill

The land began as Alexander Baker's 1854 farm on the old Military Road (today's Hamilton Street), where he planted walnut groves and apple orchards. Baker won his land back in court after Omaha's Claim Club forced him to sign it over in 1857; the case helped break the club's power.
