About University Place
Nebraska Methodists announced Nebraska Wesleyan in 1886, founded it in 1887, and opened it in October 1888 with a single building, now called Old Main, on a 40-acre campus. Old Main is a three-story Romanesque Revival building designed by Gibbs and Parker; it served as the campus administration building until 1975.
