This week in Vinton Street
About Vinton Street
Vinton Street runs on a diagonal through the South Omaha street grid, following a ridge line that may once have carried a trail or country road. In 1889 the Omaha Motor Railway's South 16th Street line turned onto Vinton and ran southwest to South 24th Street, connecting the area to the stockyards and packing plants; by 1895 three lines shared the Vinton Street route.
