About Wayne
Every second weekend in July, Wayne turns out for the Chicken Show, a festival that grew out of an arts-show idea from the Wayne Regional Arts Council in 1981 and now runs to a downtown parade, an egg drop, a cluck-off contest and a Friday-night street party called Henoween. In 1999 it was one of four community events featured by the Library of Congress. The rest of the year the square fills in its own way: the farmers market on the courthouse lawn from June to October, Cruise Main nights on third Fridays, and Bresslerfest concerts in Bressler Park after Labor Day.
