About Elmwood Park
The neighborhood runs from Leavenworth Street south to Center Street, and from 50th Street west to 72nd Street. The park began in 1889 with a 55-acre donation from Lyman Richardson, John T. Bell, Leopold Doll and others; the city bought the rest of the quarter section by 1892, and by 1917 it covered 208 acres, the second largest park in Omaha.
