Timber! A Northwoods Story of Lumberjacks, Logging, and the Land Susan Apps Bodilly's presentation returns you to when towering white pines covered the land in northern Wisconsin. Through the cold winter months, loggers worked to fell trees to pile on the riverbanks. In the spring, river drivers moved the logs to saw mills. Her talk explores the story of Wisconsin's logging boom, the devastation it caused, and the extraordinary efforts to restore the cutover land and log sustainably.
