About Stewartville
Stewartville was founded in 1857 and named for Charles Stewart. A post office has been open here since 1858, and the town became a city in 1906. It has grown from about 830 people in 1900 to 6,687 in 2020, with Highway 63 and Interstate 90 close by. Families here send their children to the Stewartville schools, whose teams are the Tigers, and borrow from the town library on 2nd Street SE.
