About Plainview
Plainview was platted in 1857 and got its name from its high spot on a plain, where you can see a long way across the land. A post office has run there since 1857, and the town became a city in 1875. About 3,500 people live there now. Every August the town holds Corn on the Cob Days, with a parade and a free sweet corn feed.
