About Annandale
Annandale was platted in 1886 and named after Annan, Scotland. It got a post office in 1887 and became a city in 1888. Its most famous building is the 1895 Thayer Hotel, a three-story wooden hotel with a long front porch. The town is nicknamed the Heart of the Lakes because 26 lakes lie within ten miles. Neighbors now share Highway 24 and Highway 55 and a quiet downtown.
