About Frazee
Frazee began as the earliest settlement in what became Becker County, first called Detroit and then Third Crossing. It took its name from Randolph L. Frazee, who owned a sawmill there, and it was incorporated in 1891. Buildings from its busy early years still stand downtown, like the 1898 Baer Brothers store with an opera house upstairs and the 1916 First National Bank. Each July the Frazee Area Community Club puts on Turkey Days, with a grand marshal picked every year since 1971 and a street and food vendor show on East Main Street. Lately neighbors have added a bright flower mural downtown and are raising money for new pickleball courts.
