About Lino Lakes

Lino Lakes is named for a cluster of lakes north of the Twin Cities where the Dakota people gathered wild rice and small game. Settlers began arriving around 1850, in groups people called the German, Swede and French settlements. The township was organized in 1857, and the village of Lino Lakes was incorporated in 1955. Today the city is a quiet, lake-filled suburb with a large regional park.
