About Maple Bluff
Maple Bluff is a small village on the eastern shore of Lake Mendota, right next to Madison, and it became a village in 1930. Its leafy streets hold the state's Executive Residence, a lakeside mansion built in the 1920s that has been home to Wisconsin's governors since 1949 and is open for free public tours. Nearby stands the brick house where Robert M. La Follette lived from 1905 to 1925, now a National Historic Landmark. Families head to the village beach and marina on the lake, and to Firemen's Park, where a log Boy Scout cabin from 1943 still stands.
