About Otsego
Otsego was organized as a township in 1858 and was named for Otsego County in New York, where some of its settlers came from. It sits where the Mississippi and Crow rivers meet, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Minneapolis. For a long time it was a small farm community of about 1,000 people. It became a city in 1990, and growth along Interstate 94 and Highway 101 has made it the largest city in Wright County.
