About Ramsey
Ramsey sits where the Rum River meets the Mississippi. The first settlement, the Old Log Trading Post, was built in 1849, and the city takes its name from the first territorial governor, whose name was on a steamboat that carried early settlers. It became a city in 1974 and has grown into a family town of about 27,600 people. Each summer it hosts the Happy Days Festival, a farmers market and the Draw concert series.
