This week in St. Anthony Park
Nothing on St. Anthony Park’s calendar for the next two weeks yet.
About St. Anthony Park
St. Anthony Park, in the northwest corner of St. Paul, grew from two neighborhoods. North St. Anthony Park, along Como Avenue, began in the late 1800s as a railroad suburb of large homes, while South St. Anthony Park, near Raymond and University avenues, was built as housing for railroad workers. Its brick Carnegie library opened in 1917, and its biggest park, Langford Park, is named for neighbor Nathaniel Langford, who helped create Yellowstone National Park. Today the neighborhood sits beside the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus and Luther Seminary, and it throws its own Fourth of July parade followed by an all-day party in Langford Park.
