About West St. Paul
West St. Paul sits just south of St. Paul along the west bank of the Mississippi, which explains its name. It split from South St. Paul in 1889 and took the old name back. Robert Street, a long shopping strip, runs through the middle of town. Residents also have Thompson Lake, a historic Queen Anne home built by horse trader George Wentworth in 1887, and a mix of neighborhoods with about 20,600 people.
