About Woodbury
Woodbury was first settled in 1844 and was named for Levi Woodbury, a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. For more than a century it was mostly farmland, and the Spangenberg farmhouse from 1871 is still standing. The first suburban neighborhood broke ground in 1955, and voters made Woodbury a village in 1967. Today it has more than 75,000 neighbors, 63 parks around lakes like Colby, Wilmes and Powers, and a big summer festival at Ojibway Park.
