About Andover
Andover was organized in 1857 as Round Lake Township. In 1860 it became Grow Township, after a speech in nearby Anoka by Congressman Galusha Grow. The Great Northern Railway named a station Andover Station around 1899, and the city was formed in 1976. Today it is a family suburb of about 32,600 people with Crooked Lake on its south edge. Neighbors gather each July for the Family Fun Bash, with a run, a parade and fireworks.
