About Bellevue

German immigrants settled here around 1850, when the township was called Manitou. Two residents, Harry E. Eastman and Judge David Agry, renamed it Belleview, from the French words for a beautiful view, and over time the spelling became Bellevue. It stayed a town on the east side of Green Bay until it became a village in 2003, and it has doubled in size since 1990. Today families walk and bike the East River Trail along the village's western edge, let the kids loose on the big play structure at Josten Park, and come back to the park for outdoor movie nights, the Rockin' In Josten concerts and the Trick or Treat Trail.
