About Bristol
Bristol's first settler, Rollin Tuttle, came in 1830, and the area took its name in 1836 from two brothers, George and Lester Bristol. A village was formed from the town's northwest corner in 2009, and in 2010 it took in nearly all of the rest of the old town. Lakes, nature areas and horse farms spread across the countryside west of I-94, and riders come from around the region for its horse shows. Families hike the trails of Bristol Woods Park, gather at the Hansen Park pavilion, and every summer the Renaissance Faire on the state line turns back the clock to 1574.
