This week in Brooklyn Park
About Brooklyn Park
Brooklyn Park grew from farmland on the west bank of the Mississippi River, where potatoes were a big crop. The Eidem family worked one of those farms from 1894 until 1956, and the city turned the farmhouse into a historical farm in 1979. Today it is the sixth-largest city in Minnesota, with 67 parks, about 47 miles of trails and a yearly Tater Daze parade that keeps the potato past alive. Neighbors also fill the calendar with fall festivals, farm Christmas days and library programs.
