About Chanhassen

Chanhassen was first settled in 1852, mostly by German families who farmed the land and gathered near the Church of St. Hubertus. The name comes from a Dakota word for the sugar-maple tree. For a long time it stayed a small farm village, and it became a city in 1967. Today people know it for Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Paisley Park, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and about 70 miles of trails.
