About Chaska

Chaska grew from a small trading and river place that a treaty opened to settlement in 1851. The townsite was platted in 1857, and clay in the ground started a brick-making trade that shipped bricks by boat to Saint Paul in the 1880s. It became a city in 1891, and its motto is A Quality Small Town. Today people know it for Hazeltine golf, the Chaska Curling Center, and the walkable Jonathan neighborhood.
