About Corcoran
Corcoran was first settled in 1855, and Patrick B. Corcoran, an Irish farmer, taught the first school in a log house and ran the first store and post office. When neighbors organized the town in 1858 they named it for him. The old Burschville one-room school, built in 1894, still stands and is kept up by the North Hennepin Pioneer Society. Today the city draws families to Heritage Park, to Night to Unite in August, and to Country Daze each summer.
