About Golden Valley
Golden Valley is a first-ring suburb just west of Minneapolis. Settlers arrived in the early 1850s, and it was mostly farmland when it became a village in 1886. Today more than 15 percent of the city is parks and nature areas, and it is home to the headquarters of General Mills. The 45th parallel, halfway between the equator and the North Pole, runs through town along Duluth Street.
