About Hobart
Hobart is a village in Brown County near Green Bay, and the whole village lies inside the treaty lands of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. It is named for John Henry Hobart, an Episcopal bishop of New York who sent missionaries to the Oneida people and kept ministering to them after they moved from New York to Wisconsin. The town took his name in 1908 and became a village in 2002. It has grown quickly as a suburb of Green Bay: 10,211 people lived here in 2020, up from about 6,200 ten years before.
