About Little Falls

Little Falls grew up at the falls on the Mississippi River, where its first settlers arrived in 1848 and sawmills used the river's power. In the 1890s the Pine Tree Lumber Company set up here, and the town's population more than doubled in ten years. The city sits near the middle of Minnesota and is the boyhood home of the pilot Charles Lindbergh, whose family home and a state park are just south of town. People now come for the museums, the old mansions at Linden Hill, the downtown murals and the yearly arts and crafts fair.
