About Sartell
Sartell sits on the Mississippi River at what French fur traders called the third rapids. Joseph Sartell came in 1854 as a millwright, and the town grew around lumber and a paper mill. The dam and the mill were finished in 1907, the year the village was set up and named for the Sartell family. Today it is the biggest suburb of St. Cloud, known for its river, its bridge and its parks.
