About Luxemburg
Much of the land around Luxemburg was settled by families from Belgium, but the people who started this village came from Luxembourg. Its first businesses included a tavern and a cheese factory, and by 1884 St. Mary's parish was holding services in a new church beside its old log one. Wikipedia tells of a clerical mix-up that swapped names with Belgium, Wisconsin, and both towns kept the names they got. Today Luxemburg hosts the Kewaunee County Fair each July, with a parade down Main Street, and neighbors gather on summer Thursday evenings for Music in the Park. It sits between Green Bay and Lake Michigan on Highway 54.
