About Manawa
Manawa grew up along the Little Wolf River, and when the railroad came through in 1873 the town drew business from the older settlement of Little Wolf downriver. A dam finished in 1920 made power and a 195-acre pond in the middle of town. Manawa is best known for its Mid-Western Rodeo, held every July with a parade near the Fourth of July. Today families picnic in Lindsay Park by the river, cool off at the splash pad in the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park, and gather for the Fall Festival, Merry Manawa and Lights of Love in Triangle Park.
