About Milaca
Milaca sits on the Rum River and is the county seat of Mille Lacs County. Its name is a shortened form of Mille Lacs, and a post office has served the town since 1883. Today about 3,000 people live there, and the area calls itself the Gateway to the North. People walk the river trails at Rec Park, shop downtown, and come each year for the airport fly-in breakfast and the Runnin' in the Ruff trail run.
