About Nashotah
Nashotah is a small village in Waukesha County's Lake Country, named for the nearby Nashotah Lakes, and it became a village in 1957. Its oldest neighbor is Nashotah House, a seminary opened in 1842 by three young church deacons, said to be the oldest school of higher learning in Wisconsin. The seminary's stone Chapel of St. Mary the Virgin, built in the 1860s in the Gothic Revival style, sits on a wide campus near Upper Nashotah Lake. Families hike, fish, paddle and sled at Nashotah Park, a 444-acre county park of oak woods, marshes and small glacial lakes.
