About Sheboygan
Sheboygan sits where the Sheboygan River meets Lake Michigan. Investors laid out more than a thousand lots here in 1836, and the town was incorporated in 1846, first living off lumber shipped across the Great Lakes. German families came in large numbers by 1849, and the city later took pride in being the Bratwurst Capital of the World. Today people walk the lakefront at Deland Park, see the old Lottie Cooper shipwreck there, and surf the waves that earned the city the name Malibu of the Midwest.
