About Spring Green
Spring Green sits in a wide bend of the Wisconsin River in southern Sauk County, with wooded bluffs all around. Frank Lloyd Wright spent summers near here with his mother's family, and in 1911 he built his home and studio, Taliesin, just outside the village. Since 1980 American Players Theatre has staged classic plays near town every summer and fall. Downtown has a general store, a bookstore, a quilt shop and cafes, and the streets fill each June for the Spring Green Arts and Crafts Fair. Families also come for the river, the trails, the pool and the library's story times.
