About St. Paul Park
St. Paul Park began in 1887 on the east bank of the Mississippi, when a company bought a farm and laid out a town with factories along its own railroad tracks. Early workshops made carriages, sleighs, mattresses and wool goods. Today about 5,500 people live there, and the city says it is rich in parks and proud of its tie to the river. Each August neighbors fill Heritage Park for Heritage Days, a festival more than 40 years old.
