About Two Harbors
Two Harbors grew up on Lake Superior's North Shore, named for its two natural harbors, Burlington Bay and Agate Bay. It began in the 1880s as a railroad camp, when the Duluth and Iron Range line was built to haul iron ore to the lake, and the village was platted in 1885. Today the 1892 lighthouse, the old steam tugboat Edna G and a huge steam locomotive show where it came from. Neighbors gather each July for Heritage Days, with a parade, a craft show and class reunions.
