About Two Rivers

Two Rivers grew up where the East Twin and West Twin rivers meet, less than a mile before they reach Lake Michigan, and it became a city in 1878. In 1880 J. Edward Hamilton started making wooden printing letters here, and his company grew into the biggest maker of wood type in the country. The town also says the ice cream sundae was born here in 1881, at Ed Berners' soda fountain. Today families swim and fly kites at Neshotah Beach, visit the old lighthouse at the Rogers Street Fishing Village, and print with antique type at the Hamilton museum.
