About Verona

Verona was named after Verona, New York, and grew from a small village, incorporated in 1921, into a city in 1978. It sits about ten miles southwest of downtown Madison, near Badger Mill Creek and the Sugar River valley. The Military Ridge State Trail runs right through downtown, and the Ice Age Trail passes the north side of town. Today families shop the Wednesday farmers market downtown, bring blankets to summer concerts in Century School Park, and turn out for Hometown Days and the Fall Fest in Hometown USA Festival Park.
