About Warren
Warren was platted in 1879 beside the railroad and named for Charles H. Warren, a railroad official, and it has been the Marshall County seat ever since. The Snake River winds right through town, and the farms around it in the Red River Valley grow wheat, soybeans, potatoes and sugar beets. Each summer more than 35,000 people come to the Marshall County Fair, and the county historical society keeps old buildings, a depot and a little church at Settlers Square next to the fairgrounds. Families cool off at the Holiday Swimming Pool, built in 1965, and cheer for the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies.
